Parental Involvement Worker
At St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, we value the importance of building positive relationships with parents and families within our School community.
Our Parental Liaison Mentor is Ms Janette Oljanuk and has been with us for over 10 years. She is here to support you as parents and carers, and your child, with issues at home and school that are affecting their wellbeing and ultimately their ability to learn and participate in school life.
Ms Oljanuk is available to speak with families in a morning, or if you would like to speak with her directly, then contact the School Office on 01274 727 970.
Sometimes the stresses of everyday life can be quite overwhelming. If you need to talk these through, or need support please feel free to talk. You may need help with social and emotional wellbeing, including friendship issues, grief & loss, parental separation, parenting, absence and lateness, behaviour, etc.
Part of the role is to work closely with all staff, outside agencies and other organisations to improve opportunities for our children and their families, and to sign post you accordingly. You would be supported as much as possible during this process.
Main duties are to provide a link between families and school.
- To keep parents and carers informed about services available, helping them to access support and opportunities.
- To work with the wider school community in the best interests of the child.
- To help, support and advise families in order to enable their children to thrive socially, emotionally and educationally.
